Stephanie and I have visited Maine Audubon in Falmouth a few times now. We have loved walking the nature trails with our kids and snowshoeing in the snow-covered fields with friends. When Katrina and Doug booked with us at DNA Photography she strongly showed her passion for barns. In fact they are getting married at the Barn at Flanagan Farm next year. They are aiming for a country themed wedding and wanted their engagement shoot to play off that as well. She tasked us to find her a barn that we could do their engagement shoot in. Normally that is not a challenging task to take on - but when you want to do a shoot during the busy wedding season between the months of August and October....you are going to be hard-pressed to find a venue that is available during the weekend.
After scouring the area we were unable to find any venue that could meet our need and expectations so we turned to Maine Audubon. There we were able to use the exterior of the Gilsland Farm's barn along with using the rest of the scenic property. Katrina seemed pleased with the choice and leading up to the shoot was very excited and brought a few props that she wanted to use during the shoot.
Katrina and Doug are a very enjoyable couple - up for almost anything we threw up at them for ideas. Most guys are a little reserved about doing photos but Doug was a sport from the first second we met him and flashed his smile with ease. Katrina is a riot! Her laugh and smile are genuine and without doubt you can see how much these two are in love with each other. Their happiness and love shine through in our teaser photos of their engagement shoot. We hope they (and you are viewing audience) enjoy or captures! We cannot wait for the wedding next year.
