Prospect Hill Wedding: Ben and Kim

November 16, 2016  •  1 Comment

When Ben and Kim stopped by our booth at the Lewiston/Auburn Wedding Show at the Hilton Garden Inn last January we knew within the first two minutes of talking with them that we were going to have a blast with this couple - assuming that we were brought on to capture their big day.

By the time Kim had reached out to us to discuss their wedding consult we had already exceeded our wedding intake for the year and we had promised ourselves that we were not going to take on anymore weddings until 2017. However, Kim and Ben's overall excitement for life, their wedding and each other was too much for Steph to say no to. And I could not have agreed more with her decision.

Their wedding ceremony was held at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston and the reception was at the beautiful Prospect Hill Golf Course. We love shooting their; the staff is efficient and extremely friendly. Don, Amy and the crew do a great job to say the least and the food is always top quality.

Once we arrived at Prospect Hill we scooted away to one of the secluded golf holes and just let Kim and Ben do their thing while the sunlight beamed down upon them. We did not pose them a lot but instead let them just stand next to each other and reflect on their day. The light was amazing and these two were very easy to shoot. Had it not been for the cold wind and their skin tone turning blue, we could had been out there easily for another hour or so!

A common wedding trend we have been seeing recently is grand entrances made by the wedding party - this crew went above and beyond with a full size Beauty and the Beast costume and a bouquet hike done in true Patriot style...and that was only half of it!

Kudos goes out to Cut Loose in Sabattus for making everyone's hair look gorgeous and keeping the makeup on our beautiful bride face look eloquent yet simple. That makeup stayed even with all the dancing that occurred from the great arrangement of music provided by Jason Everett Music Crew.

Kim and Ben were an amazing couple to work with and allowed us the chance to try a few new techniques that we have been wanting to execute. We wish this newlywed couple all the best and hope that we get to continue shooting them in the future. Included in our captures of their day are a few surprise shots that each of them wanted to deliver to their newly married significant other.

As most of our couples are aware, Stephanie cries at almost all of the weddings we shoot. I sometimes get a lump in my throat...but I have always been able to make it through with dry eyes. That said, there was a surprise song written for the mother/son dance at this wedding that totally got to me....either that or my allergies were kickin' in! It was a beautiful tribute and something that I will not soon (or ever) forget!

We truly thank Kim, Ben and their families for helping us wrap up another successfully and memorable wedding session! We hope you enjoy our wedding teaser collection just half as much as we do!
