A bride often wants nothing more than blue skies and sunshine on her wedding day. And on June 4th that is what our creator bestowed upon us as DNA Photography set out to capture what would be an amazing lakeside wedding in southern Maine.
If there is a list of things that Maine lacks, camps would surely not be on it. There are camps tucked away in every corner of our beautiful state, nestled on almost every body of water. One of our more recent weddings brought us to a Maine hotspot – Sebago late in Naples. Chris and Sara had asked us to come out to Camp Mataponi to capture their wedding day and we were more than happy that we had the day not already booked. This all-girl summer camp was the perfect venue for a camp-themed wedding weekend. Friends and family of Chris and Sara bunked up in one of the several wooden camps scattered throughout the property. To complete the theme the couple had hand-crafted several lawn games to entertain their guests during the cocktail hour and reception.
From the hefty wooden picnic table dressed in linens to the hanging delicate string lights there was little that this couple did not think of in terms of details for their big day. Customized wine bottles were paired with a colorful arrangement of roses and peonies to help add a little pop to the mostly natural wooden interior.
Most guests were heard talking about how well the entire weekend had been strung together and this too extended to the thought of events for their wedding day as well. The ceremony led to cocktail hour which then lead to several hours of dancing and when it was time for the music to stop, the celebration took a more relaxed feel to it. At midnight the remaining party members had the opportunity to enjoy a bonfire before retiring for the night. Here are a few of our favorite captures of the day.
