DNA Photography's senior portrait experiences in Maine is classified under three different experiences. The Core Experience at $950 is the most popular choice and give seniors and family a solid foundation to start with - and potentially build on. Most of our customers invest between $950-$1500 and walk away feeling that they achieved the ultimate photographic experience. 

The Classic Experience starts at $550. All packages include personal planning, creative direction, and an in-person reveal session. No hidden fees. No surprises. This sessions is always photographed on the beautiful Pineland Farm campus, complete with pond, wooden bridges, a flower garden and several wooded scenes.

We built our pricing around one belief — that a senior portrait session should feel like an investment in something real, not a transaction you forget about by Tuesday. By the time most families sit down at the reveal, the number isn't the conversation anymore. The images are.

What senior portrait packages does DNA Photography offer?

DNA Photography offers three senior portrait experiences in Maine.

The Signature Experience ($1,450) is the most complete — up to four hours or a split session, multiple locations, unlimited outfit changes, 40 fully edited images, a $300 print credit, priority scheduling, and a Cap and Gown or Extreme Sports session.

The Core Experience ($950) — the most popular — includes two hours, two locations, four outfits, 25 edited images, and a $200 print credit.

The Classic Experience ($550) offers a focused 45-minute session at Pineland.

How far in advance should we book a senior portrait session in Maine?

DNA Photography recommends booking senior portrait sessions in Maine at least six to eight weeks before your ideal session date. Summer and early fall dates — the most requested windows in Southern Maine and the Greater Portland area — often fill by late spring. Signature Experience sessions are limited each season and tend to book earliest. The earlier a family books, the more flexibility they have in choosing locations, planning outfits, and building out the full creative direction.

We'd rather turn away a family because we're full than rush a session because the calendar was tight. Availability is protected intentionally — because the experience only works when there's room to do it right.

As a starting point — solid colors and simple textures photograph beautifully, layers add visual dimension, and coordinated tones work better than perfectly matching looks. Busy patterns, large logos, and brand-new stiff clothing tend to compete with the person wearing them.

We've found that seniors who wear something they genuinely love feel more comfortable in front of the camera — and that comfort is exactly what makes the difference between a photo and a portrait. When you're dressed like yourself, you look like yourself. That's what we're after.

How long does a DNA Photography senior session take?

DNA Photography senior sessions range from 45 minutes for the Classic Experience to four hours for the Signature Experience. The Core Experience — the most popular choice — runs approximately two hours. All session lengths are designed to give seniors enough time to settle in, move between locations, and change outfits without feeling rushed or watched.

The best images rarely happen in the first ten minutes. They happen once your senior has relaxed and forgotten there's a camera in the room. We build that time into every session on purpose — because a great portrait can't be rushed.

Where does DNA Photography shoot senior portraits in Maine?

Pineland Farms is the primary location for Classic Experience sessions. DNA Photography guides every senior through a four-step experience. First, an inquiry call — a relaxed conversation to learn about the senior and confirm the right fit. Second, the photoshoot game plan — a preparation guide is sent and a planning call is scheduled two weeks before the session. Third, photo day — fully planned, outfits ready, locations locked. Fourth, the reveal and ordering session — families gather in the studio to experience the finished images together for the first time.

We designed this process so that by the time photo day arrives, your senior isn't nervous — they're ready. Every step is intentional. Nothing is left to chance. The experience is the product as much as the images are.

DNA Photography's reveal and ordering session is an in-person experience where families gather in the studio to see the finished senior portraits for the first time — presented as a curated cinematic slideshow. You can also touch and flip through our amazing album options while eating your favorite snacks. 

Bring the people who matter. Bring tissues if you're the type. This is not a transaction — it's the moment the whole session has been building toward. We've watched a lot of families sit in that room together, and it never gets old.

What is the difference between the Core and Signature senior portrait experiences?

Does DNA Photography offer sports or activity sessions for seniors?

DNA Photography offers an Extreme Sport Add-on ($250) that includes a one-hour session, three to four extreme edited looks, and a full online gallery. The Signature Experience includes a Cap and Gown or Extreme Sports session as part of the package.

DNA Photography also offers a 2026 Senior Season Experience for seniors who play multiple sports, play an instrument, or want their entire senior year documented across multiple sessions.

We photograph seniors on athletic fields, ski slopes, in hockey gear, with lacrosse sticks, behind drum kits, and anywhere else their passion lives. Sports aren't a prop to us — they're part of who your senior is. We treat them that way.

Before every session, DNA Photography sends a full preparation guide so nothing feels like a surprise. DNA Photography welcomes family members and close friends at senior portrait sessions. A Small Family or Friend Add-on is available for $60, which includes five to ten images with the senior's guest. For the reveal and ordering session, DNA Photography actively encourages families to come together — the more people who matter to the senior in that room, the better.

Some of our favorite moments happen when a parent sees their senior in the slideshow for the first time. There's something about watching someone you love be celebrated that hits differently in person. We make room for that.

How will senior portraits be delivered after the session?

DNA Photography delivers all fully edited senior portrait images through a private online gallery. Purchased digital images include full media files for printing and personal use. Print products — albums, metal framed prints, and print folios — are ordered during the in-person reveal session and delivered directly. DNA Photography does not deliver unedited files or large unculled galleries.

We edit every image before it reaches you — because handing a family three hundred unedited photos and a download link isn't a service. It's homework. You hired us to make the decisions that require expertise. The gallery you receive reflects that.
